Our institutes and professional development opportunities are designed to empower your career advancement whether you are a novice, changing direction, or experienced and expanding your capacity. To meet the needs of busy professionals, our courses can be taken in intensive classroom, online and hybrid formats.

The flexible schedule will allow you to develop a whole set of professional competencies through an institute or specific skills by taking one or more selected courses.  You select the essential capabilities to continuously grow, adapt and succeed as a professional and apply them immediately.

The Digital Innovation and Media Institute is geared towards professionals who would like to build their ability to work across media for storytelling, communications, and to be more impactful and persuasive.

Global and Intercultural Leadership Institute

The Global and Intercultural Leadership Institute offers courses to professionals who want to improve their ability to lead or collaborate with diverse teams and community partners. Participants can build both leadership skills and technical skills through a range of courses, including:

Differentiated Instruction Institute (for educators)

The Differentiated Instruction Institute offers courses for educators to build their skill in supporting and empowering diverse learners, including:

Math Programs for Educators Institute

The Math Programs for Educators Institute is designed for math coaches, administrators, and teacher leaders. Courses are offered during the summer in one-week intensive courses and online in the evenings so working professionals can engage with a community of practitioners all dedicated to improving the learning and teaching of mathematics.

Additional Teacher Licensure (Add-On Licenses)

Designed for previously licensed teachers and students who are pursuing initial licensure, Mount Holyoke provides the coursework you need to apply for an Additional License in a New Level/Subject Area, English as Second Language/English Language Learners (ESL/ELL), or Moderate Disabilities.  

TESOL Certificate

Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages, or TESOL, is the professional qualification for teaching English as a second or foreign language. Recognized internationally, this certification prepares teachers with the tools to evaluate and apply the most effective methods for individual learners.
