Class Meeting Times: Tuesday and Thursday, 9:30 – 11:30 am
This course is designed to give students an appreciation for the life and contributions of Martin Luther King, Jr. while providing an introduction to the philosophy and practice of Kingian Nonviolence Conflict Reconciliation, a systematic framework of both conceptual principles and pragmatic strategies to reduce violence and promote just peace. Its universal application assists people in pursuing peaceful strategies for solving individual, group, institutional, and systemic conflicts. This course is taught through readings, film, role-play, music, mini-lectures, experiential learning activities, and guest lecturers from the field.
