Through hands-on experimentation, the reading of text, community engagement, and online forums and discussions, the students will experience art as another way to see, represent, and interpret the world around them. Students will develop studio skills to increase their comfort levels primarily in the visual arts. However, performing arts and creative writing methods will also be included. Students will explore methods for partnering with the arts to meet content area objectives and they will develop a repertoire of arts integration lessons for future classroom use.
