Tuition: $1,200 and lab fee of $500

Introduces the core principles of organic chemistry via a broad treatment of structure and reactivity of carbon compounds. Topics include atomic and molecular structure, acid-base chemistry, conformational analysis, stereochemistry, the chemistry of alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, and alkyl halides. Laboratory work includes exposure to techniques for the preparation, isolation, purification, and identification of organic molecules.
