Understanding Your Digital SLR and Basic Digital Photography

This noncredit workshop is designed for beginner digital SLR and high-end point-and-shoot camera users wanting to better understand their cameras and maximize the quality of their images. It will cover the use of auto (green box), scene, and program modes, ISO, flash, use of focal points and prefocusing, single shot vs. continuous drive, and depth of field. Students will also leave with an understanding of white balance, image size and compression, raw vs. jpeg shooting, image composition, image organization, equipment care, and selection of new lenses appropriate to their shooting needs.
