Survey of contending approaches to the study of conflict and cooperation in world politics. Analysis of key concepts--including the balance of power, imperialism, globalization, human rights, and global environmental protection--with examples ranging from the Peloponnesian to the post-Cold War world. Careful attention to the analysis of contemporary world politics using these key concepts.
