Survey of contending approaches to the study of conflict and cooperation in world politics. Analysis of key concepts—including the balance of power, imperialism, globalization, human rights, and global environmental protection—with examples ranging from the Peloponnesian to the post-Cold War world. Careful attention to the analysis of contemporary world politics using these key concepts.
