Alyssa Turschman, M.A.T. class of 2014, received her undergraduate degree from Mount Holyoke in 2011. With a B.A. in English focused on British literature, Alyssa decided that she wanted to share her love of literature with others. After having worked with children at an after-school program and enjoying her time there, she was determined that teaching was the profession for her. Having already graduated from MHC and loving her undergraduate experience, it was no surprise that MHC was the first place she looked for a graduate degree. Alyssa spent one year as a student teacher at Holyoke High School and loved every minute of it. She has been appointed as a grade 9 and 10 ELA teacher starting in the fall of 2014.
In her free time, Alyssa enjoys spending time with her fiancé and their son, going to the gym, and reading.
