Originally from Montreal, Quebec, Anne Marie completed her elementary licensure at Mount Holyoke as an M.A.T. student. Wishing to strengthen her arts education, she first earned a B.A. in English literature and history from McGill University before pursuing a teaching degree. Her interest in literature and history stems from a deep love of reading that was instilled in her at a young age.
After relocating to the United States to be with her husband, she worked as a substitute teacher at the elementary level in order to gain firsthand experience in the classroom. Trough this experience she came to realize that what students can learn from each other is equally as important as learning from the teacher. This is why Anne Marie knew the M.A.T. program was her best road to obtaining licensure. The collaborative learning process that it offers best mirrors her view of classroom learning. She also hopes to bring her passion for literature into the classroom because she firmly believes that to read is to grow.
Anne Marie currently resides in Agawam, Massachusetts, with her husband Matthew and their dog, Grace Kelly.
