Erin (M.A.T. '16) is excited to join Conservatory Lab Charter School in Boston this fall as a third grade teacher. As a lifelong lover of learning, nature, creativity, and exploration, she can't think of anything better than sharing an EL Education classroom with a bunch of curious kids.
Erin received her B.A. from the University of Michigan in Environmental Science in 2010. She started out teaching at a nature center, then decided to pursue her interest in working with students from different nationalities and cultures. She worked with immigrant communities in the US as a refugee school support specialist, ESOL instructor, and education coordinator for a immigrant services agency in Queens, NY. Most recently, she taught at a women's college in Rwanda, East Africa, as part of the Fulbright English Teaching Assistant program.
Erin is passionate about teaching methods that support experiential learning and inquiry, as well as ways to support diverse learners. She was attracted to the MHC program because of its focus on expeditionary learning and small, supportive learning environment. In her free time, Erin enjoys the outdoors (hiking, climbing, canoeing), cooking, and any kind of dance party.
