Dr. Nickie Michaud Wild is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology at Mount Holyoke College. She conducts research on narratives in the media about popular culture, politics and political humor, culture, moral panics, conspiracy theories, and 9/11. She received her Master’s in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, and her PhD in Sociology from the University at Albany, State University of New York. She received the Meadows Excellence in Teaching Award as a Graduate Instructor while at Albany.
She has published articles about political humor in the American Journal of Cultural Sociologyand the Journal of Broadcasting and Electronic Media. Dr. Michaud Wild is a Faculty Fellow at the Yale Center for Cultural Sociology.
Courses taught include Sociology of Culture, Intro to Sociology, Political Sociology, 9/11 and the War on Terror, and Cults, Conspiracies, and Moral Panics.
