All students in the Postbaccalaureate Pre-Medical Program receive individualized advising suited to their academic goals.

The Director of Pre-Health Programs, Dr. Pamela Matheson, serves as the academic advisor to all postbaccalaureate students, and also teaches the Health Care Seminar that postbacs take as part of the program. Dr. Matheson received her B.A. from Hope College and her Ph.D. from Hofstra University. She has worked with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene as part of a CDC funded project on HIV and travelled to Africa with the World Health Organization and the University of Pennsylvania.

The Committee on the Health Professions

This advisory group comprises the Director of Pre-Health Programs and science faculty who are highly knowledgeable about the Mount Holyoke and Five College curricula, medical schools, and research/internship opportunities. All members of the committee are available to provide guidance and answer questions. The committee will also write a composite letter of recommendation to accompany your medical school application.
