Leah Skypeck played varsity lacrosse at Dartmouth College and graduated with a major in English and a minor in Spanish literature. She lived in Kenya for four months after graduation before moving to New York City to work for Liz Claiborne Inc. While completing her second year of course work in our postbaccalaureate program, worked for a year as an emergency room medical scribe at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. As a scribe, Leah accompanied the physician throughout the course of examining and treating a patient, and was responsible for recording all of the official records pertaining to the patient's visit, thus freeing the physician's time for more interaction with the patient.
Leah's fluency in Spanish is a great asset in the E.R. She and another current postbaccalaureate student were selected to lead the scribe program for two years while they completed their studies and applied to medical school.
