Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages, or TESOL, is the professional qualification for teaching English as a second or foreign language. Recognized internationally, this certification prepares teachers with the tools to evaluate and apply the most effective methods for English language learners.
Teaching English to Speakers of other Languages
The TESOL certificate program is designed to provide participants with a foundation of practical pedagogy, linguistic knowledge, and classroom experience to prepare for a job as a language instructor in an intercultural environment. No prior knowledge or teaching experience is required to enroll in the program.
The seminar course includes lecture and discussion, materials development sessions and workshops for participants to develop a teaching portfolio for their job search. This is followed by a supervised teaching practicum arranged by the students in a school or educational setting with non-English speaking students either in the U.S. or abroad. Participants who successfully complete the seminar course and practicum will receive a TESOL certificate.
Where in the world are past Summer TESOL Certificate graduates?
