Mount Holyoke College Buddhist Co-Advisor Adi Bemak has devoted her career to finding balance within social change and personal growth. Her work is deeply informed by more than 35 years of practicing mindfulness meditation. Adi teaches Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction at the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society at UMass Medical School in Worcester, and at Valley Mindfulness in Northampton. She is also on the Teachers’ Council of the Insight Meditation Center of Pioneer Valley, and maintains a mindfulness-based psychotherapy practice in Amherst. Adi has a long history with social mission nonprofits in events planning and fundraising, grassroots organizing, and peace studies. In both her personal growth and social change work, Adi is guided by a deep belief in the capacity for each of us to make a difference in the world.
