The lottery phases for Fall 2016 selection will be:
Senior Suites and Apartments
Wednesday, March 30th -- 12 noon to 5:00 pm
Mixed, Junior & Sophomore Suites & Apartment Lottery
Friday, April 1st -- 12 noon to 5:00 pm
Tuesday, April 5th -- 12 noon to 8:00 pm
Wednesday, April 6th -- 12 noon to 8:00 pm
Doubles and Triples (All classes eligible)
April 12, 13 and 14 -- 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Each phase's selection time assignment will be based on seniority -- rising seniors will have the first selection times, then rising juniors, then rising sophomores. Selection times will be randomly assigned within the class year. No other factors will be involved in the assignment of time, it will be completely random within the class year. Any rumors about it being based on credits earned or GPA are false and have never been a consideration.
Each lottery phase has an opt-in process; students will need to opt-in to each phase that they wish to participate in. Students may only opt-in to one phase at a time, after each phase if a student did not choose a room, the Office of Residential Life will change the student's status to opt-out so that they may choose another process to opt-in. For example, a rising junior may want to try for a suite with their friends and should they not get one, the Office will opt-out the students so they can then opt-in to the singles process.
You'll have the ability to make a list of "favorites" of the available rooms so you can start a list of all the options you'd like to consider when your selection time arrives. You can also create a "roommate group" within the system to make sure you are sharing a room, suite or apartment with the people you wish to live with. You'll need to have a roommate group the exact size of the space you are hoping for -- for example, you will need to have four people in your roommate group in order to select a suite in Creighton or three people in your group to choose the apartment in the Rockies.
We will only assign the amount of time slots to match spaces we have, so students will know right after we ask the system to assign times if they will be able to get into a suite/apartment or a single.
We will be updating this page and emailing with additional information. Please contact Residential Life at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have additional questions!
