As of Friday, March 7th, the housing lottery system will be live and available for student use. Please login to the system to view all information about lottery, holds, class year, and review the process. Moving group and number choosing will not be available until the dates listed below.

2014-2015 Schedule for Residence Hall and Room Choosing

Moving Groups Open

Sunday, March 16th at 12:00 a.m. to Friday, March 28th at 11:59 p.m. Please note that this is the only time you will be able to create and join moving groups. Anyone who planned to join a group, but did not, will have to move by themselves. You must form a group if you are planning to move with one or more people. Roommates must form a moving group together. Please note that once you join or create a group you can not be removed from the group.

Number Drawing Open

Saturday, March 29th at 12:00 a.m. to Saturday, April 5th at 11:59 p.m. Please note that this is the only time that numbers can be chosen. Anyone who did not choose a hall choosing number will choose last after their class. Anyone who did not choose a room choosing number, one will automatically be chosen for you by April 16th.

Hall Choosing

  • Class of 2015: Tuesday, April 8th, 7:00 pm - Hooker Auditorium
  • Class of 2016: Thursday, April 10th 7:30 pm - Hooker Auditorium
  • Class of 2017: Monday, April 14th 7:30 pm - Hooker Auditorium

Room Choosing

  • All classes: Thursday, April 17th at 7:30 p.m. in your new hall.


All on campus apartments will be distributed through the regular lottery process.  These include all residence hall apartments and those in houses on the edge of campus. Students who wish to try for an apartment must create a moving group and try to sign into one on the night of hall choosing.  Open apartments will not permitted, students must be in the same group to choose an apartment on the night of hall choosing.  Please note, students who are financial aid recipients should contact Student Financial Services directly regarding a potential reduction in aid if you receive an apartment in one of the houses on the edge of campus (17 Morgan St., 57B College St.),  and choose NOT to have the full board plan or choose the 5 lunch option.  Students wishing to live in one of these spaces must fill the apartment completely as a group and must keep the apartment filled.  If one or more residents of the apartment leaves, it is the responsibility of the remaining apartment residents to find another person to move into the space.  Failure to do so could result in the remaining residents in the apartment being reassigned to other spaces on campus and the apartment offered to other students.

Off-Campus Applications

  • Friday, February 21st: Applications available
  • Wednesday, March 5th: Applications due by 5:00 p.m.
  • Friday, March 7th: Decisions emailed
  • Friday, March 14th: Acceptances due by 9:00 a.m.

Remember: if you apply, are granted permission and accept to go off campus for fall semester you can not participate in the spring housing lottery.  Also, this means that you will find your own apartment to live in off campus.
