Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
The FAFSA is used to determine eligibility for federal grant and loan assistance. If you are applying for federal aid only you do not need to file the PROFILE. We suggest that you choose the IRS data retrieval option when filing your FAFSA.

College Board PROFILE
The PROFILE is used to determine eligibility for need based institutional financial aid. (If you are applying for federal aid only you do not need to file the PROFILE.)  

If your biological or adoptive parents are separated, divorced, or were never married and do not live together, your noncustodial parent must also complete the PROFILE.

Federal Tax Forms and Verification Documents
Tax returns and verification documents are not required from all students. (Sign in to Financial Aid Online to review your requirements.) If returns and/or Verification documents are required, submit them to IDOC after you are emailed a notification from the College Board. (If tax transcripts are required they may be submitted directly to our office.)
