Form Deadline
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
The FAFSA is used to determine eligibility for federal grant and loan assistance. If you are applying for federal aid only you do not need to file the PROFILE (see below). We suggest that you file the FAFSA online by April 15th and after federal taxes have been filed so that you may choose the IRS data retrieval option. (However, be sure to meet the May 1 deadline.)

College Board PROFILE
The PROFILE is used to determine eligibility for need based institutional financial aid. (If you are applying for federal aid only you do not need to file the PROFILE.) We suggest that you file the PROFILE online by April 15th so that we receive it by the May 1 deadline.

If your biological or adoptive parents are separated, divorced, or were never married and do not live together, your noncustodial parent must also complete the PROFILE.

(NOTE: Due to a change in the PROFILE process this year, there may be a delay from the time you file the PROFILE and when we receive it.  If you file the PROFILE by May 1, even if we do not receive it by that date, it will not be considered late.)

Federal Tax Forms and Verification Documents
Tax returns and verification documents are not required from all students. (Sign in to Financial Aid Online to review your requirements.) If returns and/or Verification documents are required, submit them to IDOC after you are emailed a notification from the College Board. (If tax transcripts are required they may be submitted directly to our office.)
