Mount Holyoke students participate in SIMIODE challenge

Twenty one Mount Holyoke students participated in the week-long SIMIODE Challenge Using Differential Equations Modeling competition that took place from October 19 – October 27, 2018 at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Assistant Professor of Mathematics Timothy Chumley and Kennedy-Schelkunoff Assistant Professor of Mathematics Alanna Hoyer-Leitzel attended the Challenge Day to both coach and to help judge the submissions.

The Mount Holyoke team made up of Heather Johnston ’19, Gabi Muir ’19, and Nguyen Nguyen ’20 earned the highest rating of Outstanding for their submission in the competition.
