Organizing the first ACT (Active and Compassionate Teens) Conference for Social Justice
In March Katie Ball organized the first ACT (Active and Compassionate Teens) Conference for Social Justice at her school in Wilmington, Delaware. Katie and a committee of 20 students received two grants, recruited two noted speakers, and hosted 20 workshops. The conference was a resounding success— approximately 100 students from 15 schools attended, many of whom had not been involved in social justice work before. They left the conference inspired, with petitions and ideas for change in hand.
