Web Policies and Guidelines

The Mount Holyoke website is the primary means by which external audiences (i.e., prospective students, parents, prospective faculty and staff, alumnae, and journalists) are introduced to and experience the College. In order to manage this important communications and marketing tool and reinforce a strong, positive identity for MHC, the College's Web Strategy Team established official College Web Policies and an Editorial Style Guide. All campus Web developers should become familiar with the Web policies and the editorial style guide.

Accuracy

While Mount Holyoke College makes every effort to be as accurate as possible on its website, this site is provided "as is" without any warranty. We welcome your comments, suggestions, and corrections regarding information on the site. Email the Office of Communications and include the full Web address (URL) of the page(s) you reference. Or, select the email link at the bottom of the page where you see an error and the message will go to the department that maintains that website.

College Seal

The Mount Holyoke College seal is reserved for use by the Office of the President. If you need to use the College seal, please contact the Office of Communications to request a digital copy. The Mount Holyoke College name, seal, logo, and other official marks and images are property of the College.

Non-College Materials

Mount Holyoke College maintains the right to refuse to offer a link on an official College Web page, or to remove a link without notice. Such links are provided as a convenience, and do not imply endorsement by the College. The College assumes no responsibility or liability for content or materials provided on websites that are not owned by the College. Mount Holyoke College is not responsible for materials posted in chat rooms or bulletin boards, or for content on personal or unofficial Web pages. The College reserves the right, without notice, to edit, remove, add, change, delete or update such materials on the website.

Advertising

Advertising for non-College ventures is not permitted. Official College sites may not bear the name or mark of an outsourced provider. College Web resources may not be used for personal commercial purposes or personal financial or other gain not related to the mission of the College.
