Angie Gregory

Angie received an MS in Sustainability Science at UMass Amherst with a focus in urban sustainability. She holds certificates in Climate Change Hazards and Green Infrastructure Planning, Permaculture Design, LEED Green Associate, and the Carbon Literacy Standard. Angie has been a champion for sustainable initiative development, establishing the first compostable diaper service in the state of Massachusetts and leading the charge for UMass Amherst in becoming the first US institution to deliver the Carbon Literacy Project certification internally. Angie was an Ada Comstock Scholar at Smith College, receiving a BA in studio art. Her artistic endeavors led her to researching the structural properties of mycelium with a focus on identifying the optimal campus-generated organic waste for the feedstock. The outcomes were displayed to highlight their structural characteristics as alternative materials for use in buildings, agriculture, and prototyping materials. Other artistic endeavors included kite aerial photography and public art interventions for livable streets.
