Fred Baumgarten, director of Foundation Relations and Sponsored Research, was the featured speaker at the January meeting of the Hampshire Bird Club in Amherst. He gave a talk on the little-known composer Anthony Philip Heinrich, the so-called "Beethoven of America," and his relationship to his more famous contemporary, the bird artist and naturalist John James Audubon.
