A guide to women’s colleges

US News & World Report’s new guide to women’s colleges has a lot to say about Mount Holyoke.

US News & World Report’s new guide to women’s colleges notes that “in spite of the shrinking numbers of all-women colleges, a recent rise in application numbers suggests that the sector remains vibrant.” 

The magazine quotes President Sonya Stephens as saying, “What distinguishes us is that there is this sense of commitment to gender equity and gender advocacy.” 

Kate Meachem ’20 was also quoted in the article. She said she chose Mount Holyoke College for its academics and its community. 

“For me, it was the academic environment and the support and encouragement that come with that,” she said.
