Endowed Funds for Research Support

The Office of the Dean of Faculty invites proposals for these funds that help support students in their research.

Hedley Donovan Endowed Fund

This fund provides support including, but not limited to travel, materials and other expenses for students who have completed preliminary independent study/research and who propose a capstone project including, but not limited to, a senior thesis or further advanced research.

First preference will be given to students majoring or minoring in economics, next to students majoring or minoring in history, and last to students majoring or minoring in politics.

Applications for funding will be reviewed during an application period, with attention to the proposal’s feasibility, organization and academic merit.

Students who are eligible for funding should contact the chair of the Department of Economics.

Susan B. and Peter R. Betzer ’65 Endowed Fellowship Fund

This fund is specifically for students conducting multi-disciplinary research that bridges disciplines in any combination of fields.

Sophomores, juniors, and seniors can use the fund during the academic year for research, projects, trips to conduct research, registration fees for conferences, travel to present research findings, and other activities that immerse students in the world of scholarly research. Students can also use the fund to attend conferences related to their interdisciplinary research during the summer. Applications for funding will be reviewed on a rolling basis with attention to the proposal’s feasibility and organization, academic merit, and interdisciplinary focus.

Students conducting this kind of multi-disciplinary work may apply using this form.
