Mount Holyoke is test-optional. SAT scores - as well as scores from other standardized tests, such as the ACT - are not required for admission. We take an individualized, holistic approach toward education and admission. Because the SAT doesn't measure the full range of your intellectual and motivational qualities, we don't make it a required part of the admission process.
Although we are a test-optional institution, standardized test submission in the form of the SAT, ACT, or 2 SAT subject tests is required for home-schooled applicants who have pursued a self-study or online curriculum exclusively. The testing requirement can be waived (on an individual basis) when a student has completed Advanced Placement exams or college-level coursework. We advise home-schooled candidates to contact the admission office for more details about the testing policy and the application process in general.
