Ailsa (she/her) is excited to join Mount Holyoke’s Residence Life team as an Area Coordinator. Ailsa is thoroughly midwestern, after growing up in Minnesota and earning a B.A. in Religious Studies and History from Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa. Student leadership positions in Grinnell’s Residence Life, Athletics, and Admissions departments kindled Ailsa’s interest in supporting and mentoring students as they navigate their college experiences and communities. After graduation Ailsa spent a year living in an intentional community and working in Mount Holyoke’s Career Development Center through Lawrence House Episcopal Service Corps, and has also worked as an externship and college access program facilitator at Girls Inc. of the Valley. She appreciates opportunities to ask big questions, listen deeply, and think creatively about how we communicate and connect with others, and is proud of having worked with young people of every age, from birth through college! When not working, Ailsa can be found taking meandering runs and walks, quilting, and writing postcards to family and friends.
