Aldo Santiago

Santiago serves as Mount Holyoke’s Physical Education Curriculum Coordinator, as well as teaching all levels of tennis and squash.

Since coming to Mount Holyoke in 1993, head tennis coach Aldo Santiago has coached three NEWMAC Rookies of the Year, several All-Conference Team players, a Seven Sisters Champion, and a nationally ranked player. In 2005, he was honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Associations as Northeast Region Coach of the Year.

Before coming to Mount Holyoke, Santiago assisted the men's tennis team at Ohio State University and helped lead the Buckeyes to a Big Ten Championship.

Once ranked among the top five amateur players in Puerto Rico, Santiago played tennis for four years at the University of Puerto Rico and was named Most Valuable Player in his senior season.

In addition to competing as scholar-athletes, Santiago's varsity tennis players have offered instruction to young people in the local community. The team also offers faculty and friends weekly tennis workouts. With Santiago, the MHC tennis team has traveled to his home in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, for spring training.

From 2005 until 2008, Santiago served as Mount Holyoke's Physical Education Coordinator.
