Ann Moss

Soprano Ann Moss is an acclaimed recording artist, passionate teacher and champion of contemporary vocal music. Described as a “fearless performer” of some of the most challenging music of the last two hundred years, her artistic mission is to lift up contemporary vocal literature to serve as narrative for the hard to speak about issues of our times.

Ann’s 2025 album Now I Am interweaves music by Kev Choice, Ricky Ian Gordon, Jake Heggie, Ann Kearns, David Howell and Griffin Candey with original arrangements of songs by Joni Mitchell, Tom Petty, Cyndi Lauper and Stephen Sondheim in the style of a bespoke “mixtape.” Her 2022 album Lifeline is a modern-day interpretation of the music of Hildegard von Bingen, distilled through the lens of the artist’s experiences in quarantine. Her first two portrait albums were produced by multi-GRAMMY® Award winner Leslie Ann Jones at Skywalker Sound. Ann can also be heard on releases from Albany, Arsis, Jaded Ibis, Naxos, Navona and Ravello labels.

A twice-elected Governor of the Recording Academy SF Chapter Board, Ann shares that organization’s commitment to promoting diversity & inclusion, advocating for creators rights, protecting musicians in need, and saving music in our schools. She has been a featured soloist with San Francisco Symphony, Concord Orchestra, West Edge Opera, Left Coast Chamber Ensemble, Earplay, Music of Remembrance, the Lydian, Alexander, Hausmann and Ives String Quartets.

Ann is a Reiki practitioner and pursues a lifelong interest in Traditional Chinese Medicine. A native of Lincoln, MA, she resided in the San Francisco Bay Area for seventeen years and recently returned to Massachusetts with her husband, multi-instrumentalist Justin Ouellet.
