Katherine Simon is a theatrical, experiential, and environmental designer. Focusing primarily on scenic and properties design, their work explores abstract gesture, treating spaces as emotional containers meant to engage and engross the audience. With a background in film history, Simon’s work relies heavily on interdisciplinary research to inspire and inform the narrative and visual aspects of her designs.
Simon’s work has been seen at The Contemporary Theatre of Ohio, Available Light, Ohio State University, Denison University, and CCT, among others. She has been on staff at theatres such as Milwaukee Rep, Shattered Globe Theatre in Chicago, and Waukesha Civic Theatre.
