
Larry Picard holds a Bachelor of Music degree in piano accompanying from the Hartt School of Music as well as a Master of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music. His teachers included Eleanor Statmore, Paul Rutman, Alan Sternfeld, Donal Nold and John Forconi. A native of Springfield, his career took him to New York City, where he had the opportunity to tour nationally in concert, and also to Detroit and Cleveland, where he was on the accompanying staff of the local opera companies. Since returning to Springfield he has performed with the Pioneer Valley Symphony, South Hadley Chorale, Hampshire Choral Society, Brattleboro Concert Choir, Farmington Valley Chorale, PanOpera, Valley Winds, Valley Light Opera, Western New England College, Mount Holyoke College, Amherst College and the University of Massachusetts. He enjoys teaching students from beginners to advanced and strives to give them an appreciation of the masterworks of the piano repertoire.
