Li Cornfeld

Li Cornfeld is a feminist media scholar who researches the intersections of technology, performance, and public culture. Her current book project, titled The Theater of Invention, examines live performance in the tech industry under late capitalism. Establishing theatrical spectacle as foundational to the industrial imagination of emerging media, this work refines critical understanding of the relationship between mediation and liveness in digital culture.

Prior to teaching at Mount Holyoke, Cornfeld held fellowships at the University of Michigan in the Digital Studies Institute and Amherst College in the Center for Humanistic Inquiry. Her research has been supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Association of University Women.
