Michele Hardesty is a scholar of transnational American literature and culture. Their long-term research concerns the cultural politics of international solidarity during the Global Cold War. Hardesty also teaches and writes about Cuban history and culture. Additionally, Hardesty studies the history of hybrid literary forms and alternative print cultures, in conversation with critical archives studies. When possible, she contributes to that history. Their work appears in journals such as Boundary 2 and Radical History Review, and in collections such as Transnational Beat Generation (Palgrave, 2012), Neocolonial Fictions of the Global Cold War (U of Iowa, 2019), and, with Alana Kumbier and Nora Claire Miller, Transforming the Authority of the Archive (Lever, 2023).
