Kavita Mehta is the CEO and co-founder of The Red Pen, one of India’s leading global education consulting companies. She leads a global team of over 40 members who help individuals and families, from all over India and the world, understand and plan their education options by providing access, information and guidance.
Prior to co-founding The Red Pen in 2011, Mehta completed the Leadership Development Program at GE Capital and worked as an investment banker for PaineWebber on Wall Street. She served as the head of strategic planning for a Softbank-funded startup, and was a member of the core team that raised $25 million for international expansion. She then held various leadership roles at Yahoo! in Silicon Valley and GroupM, a division of WPP, in Singapore.
Mehta brings her cross-cultural experiences and business acumen from the United States, United Kingdom and Singapore to her work. Born in the U.S., Mehta moved to Mumbai in 2009, where she discovered the untapped market for educational consultancy would benefit from her experience and educational knowledge.
Mehta earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Wake Forest University and a master’s degree in business administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
