Professor’s research on “Last Week Tonight”
Mount Holyoke College’s Patricia Brennan has had her research discussed in a number of august journals — and now on a satirical HBO show.
Patricia Brennan, assistant professor of biological sciences, is no stranger to media coverage of her research.
However, she wasn’t expecting to see her research cited as she was watching an episode of “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.”
“I am a big fan of the show, and while watching the latest episode, I was surprised to see that they referred to my research on duck genitalia,” Brennan said. “They posted a photo of a story from National Geographic that had covered my paper on the effect of social environment on penis size on ducks.”
