A summary of the spring meeting of the Board that took place on campus May 7-9, 2026.
The spring meeting of the Board took place on campus May 7-9, 2026. Actions included the enthusiastic approval of the Comprehensive Campus Plan and endorsing the next phase of planning for Mount Holyoke's comprehensive fundraising campaign, thereby affirming the strategic priorities and framework that will shape philanthropic investment in the years ahead. The campaign is on track to launch publicly in fall 2026 . With hearty congratulations, the Board also:
- Awarded degrees on May 24, 2026, to 485 seniors and 20 graduate students and certificates to 5 exchange students.
- Awarded tenure to Marie Ozanne in Mathematics and Statistics.
- Promoted Olivia Aguilar to Professor in Environmental Sciences, Jason Andras to Professor in Biological Sciences, Amy Hitchcock Camp to Professor in Biological Sciences, Naomi Darling to Professor in Art History & Architectural Studies, Christian Gunderman to Professor in Gender Studies, Lisa Iglesias to Professor in Studio Art, Kathryn A. McMenimen to Professor in Chemistry, Kerstin Nordstrom to Professor in Physics and Astronomy and Amy Rodgers to Professor in Film Media Theater.
The Board thanked and celebrated outgoing trustees Ashanta Evans Blackwell ’95, Rhynette Northcross Hurd ’71 and Bess Weatherman ’82. Trustees-elect Ellen Ellison ’80, Andrea Mattei ’76, Ann O’Leary ’93, and Sowmya Subramanian ’96 will begin their service on July 1, 2026. Diane Lopez ’82 will join the Board on July 1, 2027. Trustee Shirley Wilcher ’73 was elected to a second term beginning on July 1, 2026.
The trustees extend gratitude and warm wishes to degree recipients, faculty awarded tenure and promotion, all faculty and staff for their outstanding work, and all those who celebrated Commencement and Reunion this May.
