As a strategic consultant, Kira Banks has been helping individuals and groups understand themselves, others and systems of oppression for over 25 years. She works across corporations, Hollywood, Broadway, non-profits, K-12 schools, colleges, and community organizations. She is a Professor and the Director of Clinical Training in the Department of Psychology at Saint Louis University where she researches how discrimination affects mental health. She is known for making complex and controversial topics accessible and intergroup interactions understandable, which she showcases on her self-titled podcast. While at Mount Holyoke, she majored in Psychology and minored in Music (voice and viola) and was active in the Association of Pan African Unity (APAU) and Voices of Praise.
Banks received her MA and Ph.D. from the University of Michigan.
