Sally Durdan ’81

Sally Durdan retired in 2020 from a distinguished career in financial services. Sally most recently served as Executive Vice President and Head of Strategy for the Consumer & Community Banking businesses of JPMorgan Chase and served as a member of the Chase Leadership Team. In this role, she was responsible for developing an integrated strategy for Chase to address the financial services needs of U.S. consumers and small businesses, including banking, investments, credit card, mortgage, auto finance, and small business lending. Sally played a key role in Chase’s digital transformation, including leading Chase’s program to partner with emerging fintechs and large technology companies entering financial services.

Sally joined JPMorgan Chase in 2004. She served as Chief Financial Officer of Retail Financial Services from 2007 through 2009, playing a leading role in JPMC’s acquisition and integration of Washington Mutual after its failure during the 2008 financial crisis, and as Executive Vice President of Corporate Finance from 2004 through 2007. From 2009-2020, Sally served as executive sponsor of the Women on the Move Interactive Network, the employee networking group dedicated to the advancement of women at JPMorgan Chase.

Earlier in her career, Sally spent 10 years at Citigroup in a variety of planning, strategy, and business development roles. She began her career as a strategy consultant in the San Francisco and New York offices of McKinsey & Company.

Sally currently dedicates her time to serving on non-profit boards and advising fintech companies. Sally has served as a Trustee of Mount Holyoke College since 2020, and currently chairs the Finance Committee and serves on the Endowment Investment, Strategic Planning, Nominating and Governance, DEI, and Before Committees of the board. Since 2013, Sally has served on the board of The Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), one of the country’s largest community development organizations dedicated to helping community residents transform distressed neighborhoods into healthy and sustainable communities. Since 2007, she has been a member of the Board of Directors of Graham Windham, a leading children’s services agency and innovator in programs to ensure New York City’s most vulnerable children and families have the opportunity to thrive. In 2003, she was inducted into the YWCA-NYC Academy of Women Leaders.

Sally received her BA in Economics from Mount Holyoke College, magna cum laude, and her MBA from Harvard Business School. She pursued doctoral studies in Business Economics as a Dean’s Doctoral Fellow at Harvard. Sally resides in Rye, NY and is the proud mother of two young adult children.
