Andrea M. Mattei, a Worcester, MA native and product of the Worcester Public Schools, recently returned to Massachusetts as she winds down a legal career in commercial and corporate finance with emphasis on the interaction between balance sheet management and real estate assets.
After completing her undergraduate work at Mount Holyoke College, Magna cum Laude, Mary Lyon Scholar, she accepted the Waddell Fellowship in American History at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, then continued her graduate studies in American History (M.A.) at The Johns Hopkins University. She completed her J.D. at The University of Maryland Carey School of Law. Following her partnership at Piper & Marbury LLP (now DLA Piper) in Baltimore, MD, Andrea entered public company executive management, serving as Associate General Counsel and General Counsel to Ocwen Financial Corporation, West Palm Beach, Florida; Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel, Finance and Treasury, at Marriott International, Inc., and Group Vice President, Strategic Development, Real Estate and Sourcing at Wyndham Worldwide Corporation. An active Mount Holyoke Alum, Andrea has served as a class agent, Class President (15th reunion), and most recently as a member of the President’s Real Estate Working Group.
Over the past decade, Andrea divided her time between Maryland and Massachusetts, as Of Counsel with Ballard Spahr, LLP, and now with Lerch, Early, Brewer, Chtd. In Bethesda, MD, she is a member of the Board of the Worcester County Horticultural Society, Inc. (New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill), The Georgetown University Law School Hospitality and Lodging Conference advisory board, and is a former Treasurer of First Unitarian Church, Second Parish, Worcester, MA. She was elected to the American College of Real Estate Lawyers in 2002 and resides in Sutton, MA.
