Mount Holyoke earns recognition across the nation’s top college evaluation organizations

Mount Holyoke College was ranked highly by U.S. News & World Report and other outlets.

Mount Holyoke College is picking up recognition this fall from four of the country’s most closely watched college evaluation organizations. New marks from The Princeton Review, Forbes, Niche and U.S. News & World Report span financial aid, institutional financial health, overall value and Mount Holyoke’s standing among the nation’s leading women’s colleges.

The Princeton Review has named Mount Holyoke to its 2027 Financial Aid Honor Roll, recognizing the College as one of just 22 schools nationwide, out of 631 institutions evaluated, to receive the organization’s highest possible Financial Aid Rating of 99. Mount Holyoke is the only women’s college on the list, joining institutions such as The University of Chicago, Amherst College and Harvard College. The honor roll distinction adds to Mount Holyoke’s inclusion in The Princeton Review’s “Best 392 Colleges” guide for 2027.

The rankings highlight the value and impact of a Mount Holyoke education: The College ranked No. 6 for “Top 20 Best Schools for Making an Impact (Private Schools),” No. 18 for “Top 20 Best Schools for Financial Aid (Private Schools),” No. 20 for “Lots of Race/Class Interaction” and No. 21 for “Professors Get High Marks.” Mount Holyoke also ranked No. 5 for “Their Students Love These Colleges.” The College’s campus and facilities ranked highly, including No. 4 for “Most Beautiful Campus” and No. 8 for both “Best College Dorms” and “Best College Library.” Mount Holyoke ranked No. 16 for “Best Campus Food.”

Student engagement also received high marks. Mount Holyoke ranked No. 4 for “LGBTQ-Friendly,” No. 6 for both “Green Matters: Everyone Cares About Conservation” and “Most Politically Active Students” and No. 11 for “Most Active Student Government.” Student media also stood out, ranking No. 12 for both “Best College Newspaper” and “Best College Radio Station.”

Mount Holyoke also earned an A+, the highest possible mark, in Forbes’ 2026 College Financial Grades, the magazine’s annual assessment of the financial health of more than 900 private, not-for-profit colleges nationwide. The grade is based on measures of institutional balance sheet strength and operational soundness, an independent signal that Mount Holyoke’s finances are built to sustain its financial aid commitments over the long term.

Niche ranked Mount Holyoke No. 4 in its 2027 Best Women’s Colleges in America. The distinction adds to a growing list of recognitions for Mount Holyoke, the leading gender-diverse women’s college in the country.

U.S. News & World Report placed Mount Holyoke on several of its 2027 Best Colleges lists. Mount Holyoke ranked No. 34 among National Liberal Arts Colleges overall, No. 31 among top private National Liberal Arts Colleges, No. 37 for Best Value among National Liberal Arts Colleges, No. 32 for Most Innovative National Liberal Arts Colleges and No. 27 for Undergraduate Teaching among National Liberal Arts Colleges.
