Olabode Festus Omojola gives lecture at at Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education in Lagos, Nigeria

Mount Holyoke's African-music expert spoke in Nigeria and Ghana.

Five College Professor Olabode Festus Omojola, music, delivered a public lecture at Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education in Lagos, Nigeria. The title was “African Composers and the Challenge of Identity.” He also presented a paper and chaired a panel at the International Council for Traditional Music’s African Music Symposium in Accra, Ghana. That paper was titled “Black Cosmopolitan Aesthetics, Musical Form and Political Discourse in Fela Anikulapo-Kuti’s Afro-beat.”
