What was your first job after MHC?: Professional dancer

Favorite class/professor and why: I loved my Biology 200 class with Rachel Fink because it was such a rich lecture every day. Rachel used a lot of color and visuals to demonstrate the amazing and complex ideas within biology.

Talents and/or passions discovered at MHC: I discovered that I really love creating and being in a leadership position of a creation. I thought all through high school that I was better at simply following a listed task, but Mount Holyoke taught me to think outside the box and walk in my own footsteps.

What do you value most about your liberal arts education?: I value most the lasting relationships I made at Mount Holyoke. I have called on so many of my Mount Holyoke connections since becoming artistic director of Saint Paul Ballet, and I wouldn’t have been able to come so far without those connections.

Why is a women’s education still relevant today?: Women need to be empowered and allowed to believe that they have a voice. I found my voice at Mount Holyoke because I was comfortable just being myself. Every Mount Holyoke woman I meet is so unique because she has become a woman who is true to herself and comfortable in her own skin.

What do you want the world to know about MHC?: Mount Holyoke College is a fast-paced, encouraging, powerful, and life-changing place. Students enter the grounds as young undergraduates and leave as women ready to take on and improve the world around them.
