Iris Carpio was hired as Head Volleyball Coach and Lecturer in Physical Education at Mount Holyoke College in July of 2017.

Previously, she was the Assistant Volleyball Coach and Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Santa Fe College, during which time she also earned an M.S. degree in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology from the University of Florida. During her tenure at Santa Fe College, she helped lead the Saints to a 2016 NJCAA Division 1 Final-Four finish, in only the third year of the program’s existence.

Prior, Carpio spent thirteen years teaching physical education and coaching multiple team sports at her high school Alma Mater, Southwest Miami Senior High School. She played collegiate volleyball at Florida International University, where she earned her B.S. in Physical Education.

Carpio teaches beginning volleyball, beginning weight training, walking for fitness and table tennis.
