Suchi Saria ’04 named a Time100 AI 2026 innovator
Mount Holyoke College alum Suchi Saria ’04 was named one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People in AI 2026 for her work on a sepsis-flagging device.
Mount Holyoke alum Suchi Saria ’04 has been named one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People in AI for 2026. Saria founded Bayesian Health, which developed a continuous AI-powered monitor that helps clinicians identify patients at risk of sepsis, a life-threatening medical emergency, earlier.
The technology is the first continuous AI monitor permitted to warn clinicians about the risk of sepsis, which contributes to more than one-third of all hospital deaths. By analyzing patient data in real time, the system can help care teams recognize signs of deterioration and intervene sooner.
A computer scientist and entrepreneur, Saria has spent her career exploring how AI can transform health care. She returned to Mount Holyoke in 2024 as a Commencement speaker and received an honorary doctorate from the College.
