Dr. Bass has taught courses on special education, inclusion, behavior modification, child development, and other educational topics in the Five Colleges for nearly 10 years. She has served as a guest lecturer, panelist, and presenter on topics related to inclusive teaching practices in higher education, behavior management, child development in the child welfare context, parent education, measurement and evaluation of social emotional skills in schools, and trauma-sensitive teaching practices. The focus of her scholarship is on enhancing opportunities for marginalized students and improving educational access and outcomes for children with learning differences. More specifically, she has extensively studied the school experiences of youth who have experienced foster care and is deeply dedicated to developing effective for training teachers, social workers, and foster/adoptive parents around this issue. Dr. Bass has worked in educator preparation and training for over 10 years.
