April Stroud

At Mount Holyoke College, April Stroud '99 majored in German Studies and English. While an undergraduate, Stroud spent her junior year studying at the Rheinische-Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Bonn, Germany and after graduation lived and worked in the Netherlands for five years.

She was an Associate Director of Education Abroad and the Director of Curriculum at the University of Massachusetts Amherst prior to joining the McCulloch Center for Global Initiatives in 2017.

April is a member of the Forum on Education Abroad and NAFSA and has served on the Diversity Abroad Faculty Development Task Force and the CAPA Academic Advisory Board. Her research interests include factors that influence participation in study abroad, curriculum integration, and assessment. 

April holds an Ed.D. in Educational Policy and Leadership from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and has published in the Journal of Studies in International Education.

The McCulloch Center for Global Initiatives at Mount Holyoke has received a grant to support first-generation and low-income students in obtaining their U.S. passports.

Mount Holyoke College’s Montpellier study abroad program allows students to take courses at the Université Paul-Valéry (UPV) for a semester or a full academic year.
