Anna Lee reflects on her decision to apply for a Fulbright, the challenges brought on by Covid, and her advice for future applicants.
Madeline Fitzgerald ’21, a spring admit, spent four months in Morocco ahead of starting at Mount Holyoke. In separating from everything that she knew, her gap semester changed her forever. She began her college journey with greater confidence and understanding of her place in the world.
Not only is Jared’s work important, his research productivity is remarkable: he has published many articles in top-notch peer-reviewed journals. His publications have been cited 750 times, reflecting the relevance of his work to other scientists.
Lucas is clearly one of the most beloved faculty members on campus. His presence, wisdom, and compassion are unmistakable, and his mentoring of students provides a model that we can all learn from.
Nina’s teaching consistently challenges students to push the boundaries of what they believe is possible.
In addition to her being a prolific scholar, Ombretta is an outstanding teacher and leader. She has developed the Italian program into one of the best (if not the best) liberal arts programs in the country.
Fulbright Spotlight: Neorgia Grant ’20
“It’s so empowering to know someone is telling your story. That’s one way I see myself using my education: getting the people I know published or giving them the self-authorship to get their own stories published, and get these stories into the curriculum.”
“We transform people who come to us with ability and determination. ... My principal goal is to learn who it is I'm teaching and figure out what they care about, what interests them as a passion, and how I can be supportive of them to follow that passion.”
“Scholarly engagement really enriches the academic mission of the College and that translates into opportunities for students and faculty. It allows me to think about the different aspects of what I do as an educator and scholar in a synthesized way.”
